Team HALO – F1 in Schools National Final 2019

Design & Technology students from Leasowes High School competed at the F1 in School National Final 2019 at AIRBUS, Chester. The year 9 and 10 students Team HALO qualified from the central regional final as champions and advanced to the National final to compete against the best 20 teams/schools in the UK at development class level (age 11-19).  

 

The national final was a two day event, the teams had taken up the challenge to design, build (using CAD/CAM), test and race a miniature F1 car. The teams were judged in a number of categories including scrutineering, engineering, verbal presentation, pit display, social media and enterprise portfolio, as well as the car’s speed being tested on the  official F1 in Schools track.

 

The event was broadcast live on YouTube and appeared on Sky News.
